Big Island Veg Fest is Back and Tastier than Ever! July 8 in Hilo

Are you living a plant-based lifestyle here on Hawai‘i Island? Or maybe you’ve been wanting to incorporate healthier vegan meals into your diet? Whether you’re a Level 10 Vegan or you’re veg-curious, the 2nd Annual Big Island Veg Fest is where you’ll want to be this weekend. The event happens this weekend from 11am to 6pm on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at the Mo‘oheau Bandstand in Hilo.

This full day of fun is packed with live music, speakers, chef’s demos, and more on the main stage, while arts & crafts and food vendors sell their wares. Big Island organizations with animal-saving missions will also be there, including Hawai‘i Animal Kuleana Alliance (HAKA), FPG Plant & Animal Sanctuary, and Big Island Farm Sanctuary.

Big Island visitors will especially want to stop by the event early to stock up on items all in one location! That means you don’t have to go all the way out to Pāhoa to grab some baked goods from Bananarama Bakery or yummy vegan ice cream from Nicoco. It saves you a trip to Kea’au to find vegan pizza because Slicely will be there! Plus plenty of locally-made self care products, crystals and gems, and more – all in one place.

It’s going to be a hot one, so be sure to grab a drink at the Teapresso booth hosted by HAKA – there you’ll find bubble tea, fruit tea, and lemonade (if you forget to bring your canteen of water, HAKA will also be selling canned water at the booth next door). All proceeds from this fundraiser benefit HAKA’s work helping the Big Island community prepare themselves and their pets for the next big emergency or natural disaster.

Check out the full lineup of speakers, musicians, and demos, as well as the vendor layout for this year’s 2nd Annual Big Island Veg Fest this weekend! We’ll see you there!
